Honoring All Who Served -- 11.11.11

(November 2011) A Veterans Day Ceremony will be held at Medical Services of Chattanooga’s corporate head-quarters on Friday, November 11. Festivities begin at 12 noon however the volunteer giving of one’s self will begin earlier in the day with a campus-wide blood drive, in support of the critical need for donations by Blood Assurance.

“Employees who are veterans or who have family members in active duty will be recognized for their service and sacrifice,” states Dallas S. Bunton, Sr. CEO and Chairman of North American Credit Services and Medical Services of Chattanooga and a Vietnam Veteran.

A typical blood drive will result in 40 donations of blood, but a minimum of 400 daily donations are needed to keep the area’s hospitals adequately supplied. “No other organization provides blood donations to the hospitals in Blood Assurance’s service region,” states Lacey Wilson Public Relations Representative with Blood Assurance. “We’ll also be collecting old cell phones at this event, which will be refurbished and donated in support of the Cell Phones for Soldiers project.”
