Chairman and CEO Dallas S. Bunton Sr. recently welcomed local City Council member Larry Grohn (shown in photo together on right) along with a Claire McVay representing U.S. Senator Bob Corker (R-TN) office for campus tours and discussions of current credit and collection industry issues.
During these individual tours, Bunton and staff educated Grohn about the healthcare revenue management industry and its impact on the global economy. They discussed challenges with compliance, oversight by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and the impact of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act on costs, efficiency and contacting consumers.
"It's always great to have elected officials come onto our campus with the opportunity to share our story and convey the often overlooked positive benefits companies like ours provide," Bunton said. "Informal conversations such as these are crucial and effective ways to communicate the challenges we also face in our industry overall and develop deeper professional relationships."
Over the past year, Medical Services has also hosted visits with Chattanooga Mayor Andy Berke, Hamilton County Mayor Jim Coppinger, U.S. Rep. Chuck Fleischmann (R-Tenn.) as well as other state and local elected officials.
